Snowflake Activity

I saw this on a blog and decided right away that I had to make it. I am always looking for interesting ideas to add to my quiet bin for the children. And I love snowflakes.

Have the children choose a card and using the felt pieces, have them build a snowflake. If they choose the question mark card, they can build whatever they like.

Here is where you can find the pattern:

Trace the pattern pieces onto white felt. I used a water erasable pen used for marking out sewing patterns. Cut the pieces out and then lightly wet them to remove any pen markings.

Print the cards and cut them out. Have them laminated to make them nice and durable.

Here is the completed set. I keep all the pieces in a rubbermaid container, and then put the container and the board in a large ziplock bag.

To make the board, I cut a piece of cardboard from a box that measured 10" by 10". I did not have a piece of felt large enough to cover this, so I used some fleece, which works just as well. You could also use flannel. I hot glued the fabric to the back of the board.

Here is Little Dude giving it a try.

  3. Super activity for the little ones.

I homeschool my DD so I read lots of homeschooling blogs. One of the most asked questions is what to do with the do with the little ones while they are busy homeschooling the older kids. This activity is perfect.

I will let my blog readers know about this activity.
