One of the ice arenas where we live has free skating a couple of time a week. One of those times is Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 to 3:00 and quite a few homeschoolers go at that time. I decided to get the kids set up with skates and helmets and then add skating to our weekly schedule. The kids were so excited! So between skating and swimming lessons, they are getting some good activity during the week.
Here is Caleb on the ice for the first time, being helped by one of his friends.
Look mom!
Little Judah got outfitted with a pair of bob-skates.
Bekah got a pair of boy's hockey-type skates. I'm told it's easier to learn on those first. Since we have gone a few times now, I'm thinking we will need to take a step back and try bob-skates for her too. She is really panicky on the regular skates and I even got one of those support bars for her to hold on to, but she is just not having fun when she is on the ice.

Ohhh that looks like such fun! I sadly never really got the boys on ice skates. I should have. ((sigh)) They will be thankful in the future for learning this fun skill.
