Challenges for the New Year

So in my last post I said that I was reluctant to choose a "word" for the year or to make many resolutions.   I HAVE found a few challenges on-line that interest me....I wondering if I could stick to those.  There is one that I am going to try for sure.  Cheryl at On the Old Path posted about the Clean Heart, Clean Home Challenge.  It is a 52 day challenge that works on having your home in order and running smoothly and also having our hearts right with the Lord.  This sounds like something I really need.  Check it out on Cheryl's blog and if you are interested in joining in, let her know.  I would also love to hear about it, leave me a comment. :)

I have always enjoyed reading Ann Voskamp's blog called A Holy Experience.  She has a lot of beautiful printables available and and a new one is a Daily Planner.  I'm often working on a planner or to-list that will work for me.  I like this one and will be giving it a try.  I was thinking of laminating it and then using a fine-line washable marker to write on it and update it daily.

Jaime at Like a Bubbling Brook has written about committing to daily Bible reading.  She is encouraging readers to try a reading plan that gets you through the Bible in 90 days.  I have tried this a couple of times and I have failed.  I want to try it again.  I have read before that when you do this, you really get a "big picture" aspect of the Bible and I have experienced this on my previous attempts.  Jaime writes at the end of her post: In twenty years, will you still be wishing you had done it? Or will you make this year the year?  Point made!
I recommend reading her other post in the same topic where she includes this quote: "Dusty bibles lead to dirty lives."

Ok, one more that caught my eye...Andrea at Frugally Sustainable has a 23 day Frugal Living Challenge coming up.  It starts on January 6 and will consist of 23 ideas for living frugally.  I am guessing that a number of the topics that will come up are ones that I already do, but I'm interested to see what else Andrea posts about.  I hoping to involve hubby in this challenge as we really need to do something to get some of our debt paid off!

Now I'm sure this over-kill for me, especially knowing that I haven't been able to stick with things in the past, but I guess I won't know if I don't try! :)
